Online and in-store FAQ*
Where do I pick up my online order?* All online orders are available for pickup at the main growing location in our local St Louis area Greenhouse, 2463 Barrett Station Rd, Ballwin, MO 63021. Click here for hours, info, and maps.
Why do you sell different colors and items in store than you sell online? We grow a limited number of specialty colors, sizes, and flower shapes of poinsettias and other plants that we reserve for in-store shopping only Because these festive containers and unique colors tend to sell out fast, and we don’t want to set our online shoppers up for disappointment. You are always welcome to browse in-store when you come to pick up your online order! Because you will have ordered your staple plants for easy pickup, you’ll have more time to shop, or you’ll be able to easily run in and out to find something special. Click here for more information and pictures about in-store items.
Why is something marked as “sold out” online but I saw some in the store when I visited? There are a few reasons for this. We update our online inventory daily, but if we sell out of allocated online inventory quickly and are busy in-store, it is possible that you will experience a lag between online availability and in-store availability. We also limit online availability so that we can make sure we have the products you order in stock so that you get what you are expecting and so that you can pick it up on time.
Why are your prices different online than they are in-store? Our prices are between $.50 to $2 different per product for online orders. Fulfilling online orders is a concierge service we provide to customers and the slight price difference reflects that service. We have done this in lieu of charging a (potentially greater) service fee.
Why is there a $20 minimum for online orders? We have a limited staff to assist in-store and online customers. This minimum ensures that we are available to provide excellent service to all customers.
May I order pot covers or saucers online without ordering poinsettias? No, at this time, those are only available for online orders as an add-on to poinsettias.
When is the latest I can place an order for next-day pickup? The latest you can order for next-day pickup is 4 pm. Any orders received after 4 pm will be available the 2nd day after ordering. (For example, an order placed at 6 pm Tuesday would be ready at 10 am Thursday.)
How will I know when my order is ready? When you first place your order you will receive an automated email letting you know that it went through and we’re working on it. When your order is ready, we will send you a second confirmation email with pick-up instructions and the pickup location. If you ordered before 4 pm, your items will be ready for pickup by 10 am the next day.
Can you text or call me when my order is ready? No, due to time and staff constraints, we will only be emailing at this time.
When can I pick up my order? It depends on when you place it. Orders placed before 4 pm will be ready by 10 am the following day. You will receive an email when your order is ready for pick-up.
How long will you hold my order? We will hold your order for 2 business days (pickup day and the day after), if the order is not picked up, we issue store credit in the amount of your purchase minus a re-stocking and handling fee of $10. Your credit will be issued via email to the same email address you used to place your order and will be valid for 365 days.
If I drive up, can someone just take my order and bring it out to me? No. Unfortunately, online ordering and curbside pick-up are time-consuming for our staff and we need the extra time to prepare your orders for you.
Can I place an order over the phone? We highly encourage the use of the online system over phone orders to make sure that we can keep everything as organized as possible. For guests who do not have a computer or are uncomfortable with ordering online, we are happy to help. Our staff will put your order through our online order system for you and you will receive the same communications via email for order readiness.
Will you load my order into my vehicle? Yes
What if I want to add on to my order? Unfortunately, we are unable to add on to online orders. You may place an additional order for pickup at a later date or for the same day, if you are ordering again before 4 pm, or you are definitely welcome to come into the store to shop some more when you arrive!
What if I want to pay with cash or check? We accept only credit cards online. We will be happy to accept your cash or check at our retail locations.
What if I want to cancel or exchange part of my order? We do not offer refunds for in-stock products on orders placed. You may exchange purchases within 24 hours with your paid receipt for different plants or store credit.
Do you guarantee your plants? No, we cannot guarantee our plants. Due to plants being living things, plants will be exchanged within 24 hours with your paid receipt. Different plants or store credit will be issued.
What if you don’t have something I ordered? We will call you one time to offer a substitution. If we are unable to reach you before readying your order for pickup, we will refund the item and send a note about the refund to the email address used to place the order.
